Definitions for Terms Used on Website


  • Content Management System (CMS): A controls panel on the website that gives access to a user for making changes to the look & feel of the website.
  • Custom WebSite : A web site designed from ground up according to client specifications.
  • Dynamic WebSite : A web site that has information and images that is updated regularly either by a webmaster or by some form of script such as javascript.
  • Google Analytics : A system designed by Google to Track Visitors coming to a website and create Statistical Data. It is enabled by putting a piece of script on each web page that is to be tracked. The Script then sends information to a users account on google which creates a analytics map of the visits to each page. In whole creating a extensive graph of the websites visitors over a period of time.
  • Image Bucket : Either a file or a database table which holds a list of images that is to be served up on a web page by a script in a dynamic fashion.
  • Resources : All information, images, files, documents, media that is to be used for the creation of a website.
  • Static WebSite : A website that has information and images which are fixed, non changing.
  • Search Engine Optimization : Search engines such as Google visit a web site through what are called bots (pieces of software script) and make an analysis of each page on the site. They check each page for content type, relevant keywords, how often those keywords are used throughhout the page / site... and much much more. We take the time and make every page on a web site as Search Engine friendly as possible in order to gain the highest ranking score.
  • Packaged WebSite : A web site that has the look and feel pre-designed. All that has to be done is place images and text in the pre-set locations and make color changes to fit clients needs.
